Expedia Partner Central is enabling hotels to create a list of local experiences and landmarks as part of their listing on the online travel agency sites.
The company says EPC Points of Interest helps properties differentiate themselves as well as enhances the consumer experience.
Expedia points to research last year from Sullivan revealing consumers rate location above price and amenities when choosing a hotel.
The EPC POI tool enables hotels to compile and customise a list of up to 10 nearby things to see according to target demographic.
The recommendations can also include images and tips.
The technology is currently available via the EPC site but will also shortly be released in the mobile app.
Expedia has been steadily building out its products and services for hotels.
Most recently it added Guest Review Insights enabling properties to gauge how guests feel about their hotel and react accordingly.
